St. Joseph is the patron saint of the Filipino Chaplaincy. The feast of St. Joseph honors the foster father of Jesus, St. Joseph. His main feast falls on March 19 while the feast of St. Joseph the Worker falls on May 1. The Filipino Chaplaincy celebrates the main feast of St. Joseph. If St. Joseph’s day falls during Holy Week, it is moved to the closest possible day to March 19. This is a grand occasion which is sometimes known as the “Filipino Fiesta” because of the fiesta atmosphere where the various Filipino communities and groups gather together for a Mass and serve a free lunch for all.
