ImageFr.Ranillo Tingal Creta hails from Tambo, Babak, Island Garden City of Samal in Davao del Norte. He was born there on April 9, 1958 to parents Segundo Creta and Santiaga Tingal.

As a child, Raning attended Babak Central Elementary School and then the Holy Cross of Babak High School. He then went on to the St. Francis Xavier College Seminary where he finished a degree in Bachelor of Arts major in English (Classical Literature) in 1978. He did postgraduate studies at the St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary until 1983.

On April 7, 1983, he was ordained into the priesthood and from that time has served 23 years in the ministry in various pastoral assignments:

1983-84 - Sta. Catalina Parish (pastoral vicar)

1984-87- St. Francis Xavier College Seminary

1987-91-  San Pedro Cathedral (pastoral vicar)

1991-93- Sacred Heart Parish, Calinan (parish priest)

1993-99 - Immaculate Conception Parish (parish priest)

1999-2003 - St. Francis Xavier Regional Seminary (Pastoral Director)

2003-2006 - St. Paul Parish (parish priest)

He arrived in Sydney last 4th August 2006 to succeed Fr. Bong Dublan Jr. as Filipino Chaplain.

Fr. Raning assumed the concurrent positions of Filipino Chaplain in the Diocese of Parramatta and Assistant Parish Priest of St. Michael’s Church in Blacktown last 27th August 2006. Warmest welcome Fr. Raning.
